The A. P. Hill Memorial Association was formed in July 2022 to aid the descendants of Lt. Gen. A. P. Hill in the legal battle with the City of Richmond to take possession of the Monument that served as his grave marker.  In February 2025, we received our 501 c 3 status from the IRS.  After unsuccessful Circuit and Appellate Court hearings, the Virginia State Supreme Court declined to hear the case.

However, without our efforts, the General would not have had a decent burial with military honors, nor the beautiful obelisk that marks his current grave near his family in Fairview Cemetery in his native Culpeper, Virginia.  Our focus is now to construct a Monument to Gen Hill on private property adjacent to the Cedar Mountain Battlefield Park in Culpeper County, Virginia.  Please join the descendants of Lt. Gen. A. P. Hill in honoring his memory by making a tax-deductible donation today.
